Am 11. Januar 2015, werden im Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles die 72 Golden Globes der Hollywood Foreign Press Association verliehen. Heute am 11.12. 2014 wurden die Nominierungen bekannt gegeben. Unter anderem präsentiert (v.l.) von Kate Beckinsale, Jeremy Piven, Paula Patton und Peter Krause. In den letzten Jahren vielen die Globes ja immer wieder wegen eigenartiger Nominierungen und offensichtlicher Gewinner auf. Dieses Mal sie die Liste sehr vernünftig aus, wenngleich es sich hier ohne jedwede Überraschung, um die üblichen Verdächtigen handelt.
Mit 7 Nominierungen führt BIRDMAN von Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu die Liste an. Gefolgt von den über eine Zeitspanne von zehn Jahren gedrehten BOYHOOD, und THE IMITATION GAME, die beide 5 Nominierungen erhielten. Mit dieser Zahl präsentiert sich auch in der Fernsehsparte die Serienfassung von FARGO, dicht gefolgt von TRUE DETECTIVE, die mit nur 4 Nominierungen gegen jede Erwartung eher enttäuscht.
