BAFTA Awards 2021

Es ist ja eigentlich schon vier Tage her, aber zumindest sollte man noch einmal einen Blick auf den Preis der britischen Academy werfen. Sofern man Interesse am Auszeichnungszirkus hat, dem man ja bei diversen Gegenüberstellungen auch immer eine spannende, und manchmal sogar komische Seite abgewinnen kann. Erstaunlich dabei, dass die 6.500 Mitglieder der British Academy of Film and Television Art bei den führenden Preisträgern, der Auswahl und den Gewinnern der Golden Globes wie kaum in den Jahren zuvor sehr nahe kommen.

Die Preise der Regie-, Schauspieler- und Autoren-Gilde finden mit einem kompetenteren und spezifischeren Augenmerk ihre Nominierungen und Gewinner. Dennoch schätzt man die BAFTAs wegen ihres Gespürs, alle britischen Filmbranchen unvoreingenommen und sachbezogen zusammen zu bringen. Ein perfektes Äquivalent zu den Oscars, nur nicht mit amerikanischer Sentimentalität, sondern britischer Nüchternheit.
